Bringing new meaning to snazzy, the Victoria Crowned Pigeon puts American pigeons to shame. At least, visually.

But it turns out, our stateside feathered crew redefines sedate, uttering a mere melodious sequence of coos throughout the day. In contrast, when the 🎵 I’m too sexy for my shirt 🎵 dude opens his beak to utter sound, you’ll swear a tractor trailer truck approaches. Eardrum-piercing loud, the sound triggers memories of the gorgeous blond, cursed with a ditsy Valley Girl nasal voice. In this instance, imagine a James Earl Jones voice emanating from a PeeWee Herman, and you better comprehend the dichotomy presented by the Victoria Crowned Pigeon. But hey, still downright purdy, y’all.

Nature, one heck of a mischievous kiddo, eh?! 😂🤣

Victoria Crowned Pigeon, In Action

Incidentally, this video was taken at my second home, the Sylvan Heights Bird Park just outside of Rocky Mount, in Scotland Neck, NC. Notice the freedom accorded to both humans and birds. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania’s National Aviary presents a similar walk-right-on-through-Honey delight, but only in some sections.

Here, the sound is muted. Otherwise, I guarantee the booming remains discernible acres away.
